About SCUG.dk

System Center User Group Denmark, commonly known as SCUG.dk, is a non-profit organization formed in April 2009. The main goal is to help administrators and IT Pro’s to design, deploy and manage IT solutions using Microsoft System Center products.

Why a Danish SCUG

The idea began in the early spring of 2009 where we (Kent and Ronni) met for a quite beer at MMS in Vegas. We both love working with the system center products and we like to be active players in communities where knowledge is shared and new ideas born. Both of us have been actively involved in other System Center comminutes like the Microsoft Technet Forums, myITforum and IT-experts.dk for several years. But the idea of starting something national was very appealing as it gives us other opportunities like arranging regular meetings across the country, being present at local events and hopefully allow you to get advice from system center specialists.

If it’s a Danish user group why are all posts in English then?

That’s simple to answer. For ages all IT literature in Denmark has been in English. In many universities and companies the official language is English. So for us it felt like a natural thing to keep everything in English.

What can you expect to find here

Our goal is to provide you with best practice when it comes to installing and configuring System Center products. We will provide the information through blogs and how-to guides. The idea behind the how-to guides is that they can be used to install and configure your test environment from A to Z. The blogs will cover specific subjects and often in details describes certain features.

What you will not find here

We will compete with neither the Technet forums nor Myitforum. Both of those forums are of great importance for the International community and we will still be very active there. Also don’t expect to find general product announcements here those should be found at  http://microsoft.com/systemcenter

Code of conduct

All work in this community comes from people who volunteer. We all do our best to help you out, but remember we are a non-profit community. We will respect all comments as long as they are written in a respectful language. If not we will remove the comment from the site.

Above all we are trying to create the framework for your user group. Please feel free to sign up and join the community (even if you are not from Denmark Geeked)

Kent Agerlund

Founder of SCUG.dk.

Almost 100% dedicated to working with SMS/Configuration Manager and desktop management since 1998. I began my career in computing back in 1988 working with (and training) good old DOS 3.30 and later on Windows 3.1, NT 3.51 etc.

I began working with SMS 1.2 back in late 1996 first as a trainer and later as a consultant. Back in those days’ we didn’t have that many customers here in Denmark. But after a few years with SMS 2.0 (tough years being a SMS consultant!) it really started to accelerate with SMS 2003. A lot of new customers started using the product which turned out to be very reliable and highly customizable. I have been working Configuration Manager 2007 since the early betas as a consultant but also a trainer.  On the training side I have delivered Microsoft Partner training in both Denmark and abroad. As a consultant I have been involved in national and international projects as project manager, “the techy guy” and also as a quality reviewer on existing installations.
