download the retail kit and use “Install Data Protection Manager” on the DPM server

the installer detects the running trial and start the wizard for upgrading to retail

Runs a quick verify of prerequsites if it passed in trial it will pass again during the upgrade

This trial was installed with the internal database so it will be selected pr default for upgrade

The installer will need to create a user for running the SQL server.

Select if you want to use Microsoft Updates

Select if you want to upload CEIP info to Microsoft

and the installer is doing its work

and the trial product is now upgraded to retail

the installer dont clean up the old trial instances of SQL and SQL Reporting so they need to be removed manually after verification that everything works

and after the upgrade is final it is now possible to use “update dpm licenses” to enter purchased licenses
